KUWAIT CITY, Oct 4: The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy announced Saturday it will begin scheduled periodic maintenance on components of the electrical system starting Sunday, October 5, as part of its annual infrastructure efficiency plan.
The maintenance will cover a wide scope of the national power network, including power generation units, electrical transmission networks, and secondary transformer stations, the ministry said in a press statement.
Ministry spokesperson Eng. Fatima Hayat explained that the planned maintenance is part of the ministry’s ongoing efforts to enhance the readiness and reliability of the electrical system, as well as to minimize emergency malfunctions across the network.
Hayat noted that some areas may experience temporary power outages as a result of the scheduled work. She emphasized, however, that all tasks are being executed according to a carefully organized timetable to ensure speedy and efficient completion.
The ministry will notify affected customers through the official government application “Sahel”, using data from the Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI). Additionally, updates on maintenance status—from start to completion—will be available through the ministry’s official social media channels.
Hayat urged the public to stay informed and monitor the ministry’s updates to minimize inconvenience during the maintenance period.
