KUWAIT CITY, Sept 25: In a move reinforcing Kuwait’s global humanitarian role, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Affairs Dr. Khaled Al-Ajmi announced the government’s commitment to eliminating challenges facing charitable organizations and providing them with robust support to expand their work both locally and internationally.
Speaking on Wednesday during the launch of a series of field visits to charitable societies, Al-Ajmi affirmed that supporting external charitable projects remains one of the most prominent pillars of Kuwait’s humanitarian leadership on the international stage.
Al-Ajmi made his remarks during a visit to the Direct Aid Society, which marked the beginning of a broader initiative by the ministry aimed at strengthening direct communication with nonprofit institutions and monitoring their activities under newly implemented charitable work regulations.
“The goal of these visits is to follow up on the real-world performance of charitable societies, gain a true understanding of their operational realities, and listen to the insights and suggestions of their leaders,” Al-Ajmi stated. He emphasized that this interactive approach is essential for building a clear picture of the opportunities and challenges in this vital sector.
He clarified that the ministry’s visits would go beyond mere oversight, aiming to foster genuine partnerships with charities and draw on their field experience to launch innovative, high-impact initiatives. These initiatives, he said, would reflect Kuwait’s humanitarian legacy and reinforce its global standing.
Al-Ajmi also underscored the importance of organizing charitable efforts in line with established guidelines to ensure that aid reaches its rightful recipients. “This approach boosts the growing international confidence in Kuwait’s charitable framework,” he noted, adding that “opening new horizons for associations in their external projects consolidates Kuwait’s image as a beacon of humanitarian work and enhances its effective presence in responding to crises and disasters worldwide.”
The ministry’s new strategy highlights its dedication to elevating Kuwait’s charitable sector and ensuring its alignment with international best practices, while preserving the country’s longstanding commitment to humanitarian aid.
