BEIRUT, Oct 5 (KUNA): Kuwait’s track and field team clinched gold and a silver medal at the West Asian Youth Athletics Championship held in Lebanon.
Kuwait’s track and field team continued its impressive run at the West Asian Youth Athletics Championship in Lebanon, winning multiple medals, including gold, silver, and bronze across various events.
The Kuwaiti athletes captured the gold medal in the 4x100m relay with a time of 70.4 seconds, led by Sayyed Fakher, Meshari Al-Mutairi, Jassem Al-Qinaee, and Abdullah Al-Azmi.
Suleiman Al-Shamroukh secured the silver medal in the hammer throw, achieving a distance of 51.55 meters.
Speaking to KUNA, Falah Al-Ajmi, Chairman of the Board and Head of National Teams at the Kuwaiti Athletics Federation, praised the athletes’ performance, highlighting additional achievements — including gold and silver medals in the long jump by Abdullah Al-Azmi and Saleh Al-Khabbaz, and another silver by Mohammad Al-Duaij.
In the 110m hurdles, Meshari Al-Mutairi claimed the gold medal, while Jassem Al-Qinaee took silver.
The team also earned a bronze medal in the 800m through Saad Al-Rashidi and Abdulatif Al-Failakawi, and another bronze in the shot put by Abdulrahman Al-Qahtani.
