KUWAIT CITY, Oct 2: The Kuwait Shooting Federation held a ceremony to honor its male and female shooters who recently excelled at the Gulf, Arab, and Asian championships.
The event took place at the Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Olympic Shooting Complex, with Asian Shooting Confederation President Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah in attendance, alongside Arab and Kuwait Shooting Federation President Duaij Al-Otaibi and members of the local federation.
Kuwaiti shooters achieved notable success across three recent tournaments. At the 16th Asian Shooting Championship in Kazakhstan last August, they secured eight medals (two gold, two silver, and four bronze medals). The following month in Oman, at the Dhofar Gulf Autumn Shotgun Championship (Skeet and Trap), they added four more medals (two gold and two bronze). In Morocco last month, they collected 10 medals (two gold, four silver, and four bronze medals) at the Arab Shotgun Championship.
Speaking at the ceremony, Al-Otaibi expressed his delight at the accomplishments of Kuwait’s shooters, stressing that the recognition should serve as motivation for further success in the upcoming season. He noted that next year is filled with important championships and urged the athletes to push harder to secure as many Olympic qualification spots as possible.
Al-Otaibi dedicated these achievements to Kuwait’s political leadership, Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, Acting Director General of the Public Authority for Sport Bashar Abdullah, and to the Kuwaiti people.
