Kuwait Shines in UAE Archery Championship with Gold and Bronze Triumph

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 8: Kuwait secured two medals, a gold and a bronze, in its commendable participation in the UAE League Championship for Archery held in Ras Al Khaimah. The competition witnessed the involvement of over 170 international players.

The Kuwaiti representatives, Ali Al-Zaid and Badr Al-Shalahi, showcased exceptional performances, clinching the gold and bronze medals, respectively, and surpassing their competitors. This triumph reinforces Kuwait’s standing in the realm of archery sports on the global stage.

Expressing his sentiments, gold medalist Ali Al-Zaid stated to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that this accomplishment contributes significantly to Kuwaiti sports overall, underscoring the crucial role played by the State of Kuwait in supporting and nurturing sports talent. Al-Zaid emphasized that this achievement truly reflects their commitment to sports and determination to succeed at the international level, expressing gratitude for the moral and material support provided by the Kuwait Shooting Club.

Obaid Al-Osaimi, the Secretary-General of the Kuwaiti and Arab Archery Federations, conveyed to KUNA that the archers’ success in earning these medals continues Kuwaiti archery’s string of accomplishments. He dedicated the victory to the political leadership and the Kuwaiti archery family, emphasizing the Kuwaiti Game Federation’s unwavering support for shooters across various disciplines. Al-Osaimi commended the triumph of Al-Zaid and Al-Shalahi in the championship.

The tournament, featuring numerous international players in bow and arrow competitions, commenced last Friday and concluded its activities on Monday.
