KUWAIT CITY, May 13: Eng. Khaled Al-Osaimi, Director General of the Public Authority for Roads and Transportation (PART), reaffirmed the authority's commitment to adhering to the established timeline for the completion of Kuwait's railway project. He emphasized the importance of removing any obstacles that could impede its progress through direct coordination with relevant state agencies.
This statement followed a meeting at PART's headquarters on Tuesday with the acting head of the consultative agreement for the railway project. The meeting focused on reviewing the detailed design study of the railway track, discussing technical aspects related to the track's specifications, and preparing for the project's launch under the consultative agreement.
The first phase of the project, extending 111 kilometers as part of the Gulf railway network, was also discussed. Plans are underway to convene a coordination meeting with all concerned parties to expedite and facilitate procedures, ensuring the project's smooth and efficient implementation.
The railway project is a significant component of the broader Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) railway initiative, aiming to enhance regional connectivity and economic integration. The successful execution of this project is expected to bolster trade, reduce transportation costs, and contribute to sustainable development goals within the GCC region
