Kuwait Records One of the Hottest Days

KUWAIT CITY, July 15: The Meteorological Department recorded the highest temperature in the country on Tuesday in the Al-Rabiya area, where it reached 51°C. Temperatures also hit 50°C in Jahra, Abdali, and at Kuwait International Airport. Acting Director of the department, Dharar Al-Ali, told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the extreme heat is due to the influence of an extension of the Indian monsoon depression, bringing with it a scorching air mass and light to moderate northwesterly winds that may shift, particularly along coastal areas. He noted that the country will continue to experience extremely hot days and hot to warm nights, with increased humidity along the coast. However, humidity levels are expected to drop starting Friday. The department forecasts that maximum temperatures could range between 50°C and 52°C in some regions, with the intense heat expected to persist through Saturday.
