KUWAIT CITY, June 3: First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah chaired on Monday the fourth meeting of the Humanitarian and Charitable Work Regulatory Committee, with participation from representatives of relevant government bodies.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Interior, the committee recommended the resumption of sacrificial animal projects and orphan deduction initiatives. It also called for the preparation of awareness and guidance messages to be disseminated in collaboration with the Ministry of Information and the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), aiming to promote transparency and awareness in the field of humanitarian and charitable work.
The ministry noted that the meeting was part of Kuwait’s ongoing efforts to enhance the efficiency of humanitarian initiatives and align them with international standards, while also safeguarding the country’s reputation.
During the session, Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Dr. Khaled Al-Ajmi, presented the outcomes of a recent visit by a delegation from the committee to Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar. The visit aimed to explore best practices and exchange expertise in regulating charitable and humanitarian activities.
Dr. Al-Ajmi explained that discussions during the visits focused on the digital governance systems adopted by official entities in the three countries, as well as on mechanisms used to monitor and oversee charitable institutions.
The committee reaffirmed its commitment to further developing Kuwait’s charitable work framework in accordance with global benchmarks.
