Kuwait Ranks 13th Globally As World’s Happiest Country

KUWAIT CITY, March 20: Kuwait clinched the leading position in the Arab world and secured the 13th spot globally in the recently published World Happiness Report, released on Wednesday in celebration of the International Day of Happiness. Covering 143 countries and analyzing data from 2021 to 2023, the report evaluated various factors including objective assessments of residents’ lives, social support, income, freedom, and absence of corruption.

Following Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates claimed the second spot in the Arab world, ranking 22nd globally, while Saudi Arabia secured third place regionally and 28th globally.

Notably, the United States dropped out of the top ten list, landing in 23rd place globally, while the United Kingdom ranked 20th.

Countries are ordered based on their self-assessed life evaluations, derived from responses to the Cantril ladder question in the Gallup World Poll, averaged across multiple years.

Finland maintained its position as the world’s happiest country for the seventh consecutive year, while Lebanon and Afghanistan ranked at the bottom of the list.
