ASTANA, Aug 27: Kuwait’s shooting team added a new bronze medal at the 16th Asian Shooting Championship, currently taking place in Kazakhstan, raising their overall tally to six medals: two gold, one silver, and three bronze.

Secretary-General of Kuwait Shooting Club, Obaid Al-Osaimi, said from Kazakhstan that this latest achievement came after the junior team—comprising Abdullah Al-Rashidi, Saad Al-Enezi, and Ahmad Al-Mandeel—secured third place in the team trap competition.

He explained that the victory came after a tough contest, with India taking first place, Kazakhstan second, Qatar fourth, and Uzbekistan fifth.

Al-Osaimi praised the efforts of the promising young shooters, highlighting their high focus and the support of the technical and administrative staff as key reasons for this success, despite the strong competition at the championship.

So far, Kuwait’s medal haul at the tournament includes two golds in the men’s team skeet and trap events, a silver medal won by shooter Mansour Al-Rashidi in individual skeet, and three bronzes through the women’s and juniors’ teams in skeet, along with the juniors’ trap bronze achieved yesterday.
