KUWAIT CITY, June 29: His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister of Kuwait, chaired a high-level meeting at Seif Palace on Monday to address pressing issues related to the country’s infrastructure and transportation system.
The meeting focused on enhancing oversight mechanisms to improve road safety, reduce the financial burden on infrastructure, and alleviate pressure on the country’s road networks. Discussions also emphasized the importance of curbing material and human losses, as well as tackling customs evasion at Kuwait’s land, sea, and air ports.
His Highness affirmed that these efforts align with the government’s strategic vision to protect national infrastructure and ensure the sustainability and efficiency of vital facilities. He stressed the need to strike a balance between facilitating transportation and trade while maintaining long-term operational integrity.
The Prime Minister highlighted the importance of strengthening institutional coordination among concerned entities and called for the implementation of smart monitoring systems that reflect modern requirements. These systems aim to boost the efficiency and durability of road networks and improve overall performance.
Among those in attendance were Abdulaziz Dakhil Al-Dakhil, Head of the Prime Minister’s Diwan; Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Mohammad Al-Mashaan; and senior officials from the Ministry of Interior, the Fatwa and Legislation Department, the Kuwait Ports Authority, the General Administration of Customs, and the Public Authority for Roads and Land Transport.
The meeting forms part of Kuwait’s ongoing commitment to advancing sustainable infrastructure development and enhancing the country’s transport and logistics capabilities.
