KUWAIT CITY, Nov 14: Has the Indian film “Tiger 3,” featuring Bollywood stars Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, been banned in Kuwait, Oman, and Qatar due to concerns about the negative portrayal of Muslim characters in the movie?, reports Alseyassah. The film is an action epic and the third series in the Tiger franchise.

The recently released film, coinciding with the Hindu festival of Diwali, has set a new record by becoming the highest-grossing release on Diwali Day. However, the movie has been criticized for incorporating anti-Islamic metaphors, particularly in its depiction of the leader of a global terrorist organization.

Times of India stated that the movie Tiger 3 was rumored to be banned in Kuwait, Qatar, and Oman. The decision to ban Indian films in Kuwait, Oman, and Qatar is not without precedent. Last year, the Tamil film “The Beast” faced bans in Kuwait and Qatar due to its portrayal of Muslims as terrorists and the inclusion of dialogues perceived as hostile to Pakistan. Additionally, the historical epic “Samrat Prithviraj” was banned in Kuwait and Oman for what authorities deemed as distorting history and causing offense to the Islamic community.

Arab Times did a fact check and found Tiger 3 movie has been running in Kuwait in Sky, Vox, and Cinescape Theaters and in Oman too.
