KUWAIT CITY, Nov 30: In a recent development, Hassan Al-Kandari, the Director of the Human Resources Group at Kuwait Oil Company, has issued a circular outlining updated instructions for the acquisition of sick leave within the company.

Kuwait Oil Company unveiled updated sick leave instructions.

The circular aims to enhance awareness among Kuwait Oil Company's employees regarding the proper procedures for obtaining sick leave. The following key points were highlighted:

Acceptable Sick Leaves: The circular specifies that sick leaves issued by authorized centers, clinics, government or private hospitals, and those granted through electronic means are acceptable. However, adherence to the terms, provisions, and rules governing the issuance of sick leaves is crucial. Electronic sick leaves should be obtained through platforms approved by the Ministry of Health.

Procedures for Workers Taking Sick Leave:

  1. Prompt Notification: Employees are required to notify their direct supervisor of each sick leave and its expected duration on the first day of absence. The responsibility of providing proof for this notification lies with the worker.
  2. Submission Deadline: Sick leave, accompanied by necessary approvals, must be submitted to the employer within 7 days from the commencement of the leave.
  3. Extended Sick Leave: In cases where sick leave exceeds 15 days, employees must submit the relevant documentation to the employer within 10 days from the start date of the leave.
  4. Hospital Admission: If hospital admission is necessary, the worker must inform their direct supervisor immediately upon admission. Additionally, proof of the duration of the hospital stay must be provided upon discharge.

These new guidelines aim to streamline the sick leave process, ensuring timely communication and documentation. Employees are encouraged to familiarize themselves with these procedures to facilitate a smoother sick leave application within the Kuwait Oil Company.
