KUWAIT CITY, July 6: The technical staff of the Kuwait men’s volleyball team, led by Argentine head coach Julian Al-Fayez and his Zaid Al-Kazemi, has officially selected 14 players to represent the team at the inaugural West Asian Men's Volleyball Championship, set to take place in Bahrain from July 17 to 27.
The selected squad includes:
Abdulaziz Najm, Mahmoud, Yousef Mandeel, Fahad Saad Yaqoub, Abdul Nasser Al-Enezi, Abdullah Fares Al-Enezi, Abdulrahman Al-Mutawa, Saud Al-Duwaisan, Ahmed Al-Munais, Rashid Anbar, Adhbi Malik Al-Enezi, Fares Suleiman, Talal Ahmed Abdul Razzaq, Ibrahim Mandeel, and Abdulrahman Mohammed Kamel.
In preparation for the tournament, the team departed at dawn today for a 10-day training camp in Tunisia, where it will play four friendly matches.
Naif Al-Khamili, Assistant Secretary-General of the Kuwait Volleyball Association, heads the team's delegation. It includes team administrator Mohammed Al-Balushi, fitness trainer Kozak Lux, statistician and physiotherapist Mohammed Al-Yamam, and the 14 selected players.
According to the tournament draw, Kuwait has been placed in Group B alongside Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Oman. Group A comprises the host nation, Bahrain, Jordan, the UAE, and Lebanon.
Speaking before the team's departure, Al-Khamili encouraged the players to make the most of the Tunisia camp and emphasized the importance of a strong showing at the tournament, viewing it as both a competitive opportunity and a chance to build a new generation of players capable of long-term success.
