Municipality takes action against violating car awnings in Kuwait.

KUWAIT CITY, April 17: In a move aimed at addressing violations within the governorate, Engineer Saud Al-Dabbous, the Director-General of the Municipality, has directed departments and sections to initiate a campaign targeting car sheds located in cooperative societies’ parking lots. This directive comes amidst efforts to ensure compliance with regulations and preserve state property.

According to sources familiar with the matter, the campaign will unfold in three stages: monitoring, issuing warnings, and eventually removing the violating structures while documenting the violations. The Municipality remains steadfast in its decision to address these violations, particularly as many of the car awnings are unlicensed and constitute unlawful exploitation of state property.

The sources further revealed that the upcoming stages of the campaign will extend to addressing car shades in schools and eventually encompass other government agencies. This concerted effort reflects the government's commitment to enforcing the law and upholding regulations across various sectors.

Engagement with municipal leaders and legal experts has been integral in charting the course for implementing regulations effectively. Discussions have centered on the need for a comprehensive approach to address longstanding issues related to illegal car awnings, particularly those belonging to government agencies.

The campaign's commencement saw the removal of 45 umbrellas from government agency walls in the Hawalli region alone, with an additional 6 removed in Mubarak Al-Kabeer. This proactive step underscores the Municipality's determination to tackle violations and promote adherence to regulatory standards for the benefit of the community.
