KUWAIT CITY, May 8: The Kuwait Municipality launched its first field inspection campaign on Thursday aimed at vacating charitable societies and organizations operating in private and model residential areas across the country's six governorates.
Khaled Al-Fadhli, Head of the Emergency Team at the Ahmadi Municipality, told KUNA that teams from the audit and engineering follow-up departments have monitored and warned several charitable societies in private residences over the past few days, urging them to vacate their premises.
Al-Fadhli added that the municipality carried out its initial field inspection campaign today, targeting five areas: Fahd Al-Ahmad, Al-Sabahiya, Al-Fahaheel, Ali Sabah Al-Salem (Umm Al-Hayman), and Sabah Al-Ahmad Residential City. The inspection was aimed at ensuring compliance with the municipality's directives, which were issued after the societies and charities received warnings to vacate their premises.
According to Al-Fadhli, the inspection teams issued 15 warnings to violating charitable societies and organizations. He praised the cooperation of several societies that acted promptly to vacate their premises after receiving the warnings in the Al-Ahmadi Governorate.
Al-Fadhli emphasized that the inspection teams would take strict legal action against violators of the municipality’s regulations and laws. He also stressed that the field campaign would continue in the coming days across various governorates.
It is important to note that Ministerial Resolution No. 206/2009 prohibits the use of buildings in private and model residential areas for any purposes other than private housing. As part of the implementation of this resolution, the municipality has issued warnings to charitable societies operating in private residential areas to vacate their premises.
