Kuwait Municipality highlights surge in waste dumping, pushes for tougher sanitation laws.
KUWAIT CITY, Oct 4: Kuwait Municipality spokesperson and Director of the Public Relations Department Muhammad Al-Sindan says the daily increase in violations of the public hygiene regulations places a burden that exceeds the capacity of sanitation workers in public areas. He stressed the need to expedite the imposition of deterrent fines against violators. In a press statement obtained by Al- Seyassah, Al-Sindan pointed out that Kuwait Municipality’s oversight bodies, responsible for monitoring public cleanliness levels, urgently need to impose fines commensurate with the severity of violations, similar to those enforced in traffic, electricity, water, and environmental laws. He indicated that toughening penalties for public cleanliness violations will contribute significantly and effectively to reducing littering in roads, squares, public parks, beaches, and markets
