KUWAIT CITY, Aug 9: The Ministry of Islamic Affairs (MoIA) has issued a directive requiring holders of religious positions such as imams and muezzins working in mosque administrations in all governorates to submit a recently issued criminal record certificate. A circular was distributed urging all imams and muezzins to provide an updated criminal record certificate within three working days of the circular’s release and to submit it to the Personnel Affairs Department. The circular explained that the certificate can be obtained electronically through the Sahel app by selecting the Ministry of Interior Services, then logging into “Security Services,” and choosing the “Issuing Criminal Record” service.
