KUWAIT CITY, Sept 10: Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood Affairs Dr. Amthal Al-HuwailaH on Tuesday reaffirmed that protecting public funds is a fundamental and inalienable principle, stressing that accountability will apply to all violators, whether active or retired, and to anyone who committed or facilitated violations.
In a statement to KUNA, Al-HuwailaH said she issued a circular to the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Public Authority for the Disabled, and the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, urging them to uphold the highest standards of governance and transparency in executing contracts with companies and related parties.
She stressed that all employees and supervisors in these institutions are required to strictly follow up on the implementation of contractual clauses and to audit them accurately and responsibly to safeguard government dues.
The minister underlined that contracting companies are obligated to fully meet their contractual obligations; otherwise, they will face penalties outlined in tender and practice regulations. She added that all legal measures will be enforced against violators or those who fail to comply, without exception.
Al-Huwailah pointed out that strict compliance with contract terms is the cornerstone of successful partnerships with companies dealing with the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Public Authority for the Disabled, and the Supreme Council for Family Affairs. Such adherence, she affirmed, enhances transparency and ensures the protection of public funds.
