CAIRO, Aug 10: Kuwait is currently participating in the President’s Cup consolation rounds of the 11th U-19 World Handball Championship, taking place in Egypt until August 16. Today at 3:00 pm, the team will face Kosovo.
The President’s Cup features 16 teams that did not advance to the second round of the tournament. These teams are divided into four groups competing for final placements from 16th to 32nd place. Kuwait is grouped with Morocco, Portugal, and Kosovo. Tomorrow at the same time, Kuwait will play against Morocco.
In the initial group stage (Group A), Kuwait lost all three matches — against Sweden and Austria, who advanced to the second round, and against Portugal, who also competes in the President’s Cup. The team is determined to perform strongly today and secure its first victory in the tournament.
Meanwhile, the junior handball team, coached by Tin Bodi and his assistant Hassan Al-Moussawi, started daily training today at their camp in Cairo, Egypt.
The team arrived in Cairo yesterday for a 15-day training camp, during which it will play five friendly matches. This camp is part of the federation’s strategy to develop and strengthen the junior team in preparation for upcoming competitions.
