KUWAIT CITY, June 23: Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Minister of State for Housing Affairs Abdullatif Al-Mishari inaugurated an innovative electronic service on Monday designed to facilitate transaction processing for the elderly and individuals with severe disabilities. This service allows beneficiaries to complete transactions without visiting the Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW), utilizing video conferencing through the government’s Sahel application.
Omar Al-Ruwaih, Deputy Director General for Public Relations and Development Affairs and PAHW spokesperson, described the new service as a pioneering digital initiative among government platforms. He noted that the system supports PAHW’s digital transformation goals by significantly reducing the reliance on paper-based transactions.
Al-Ruwaih added that PAHW employees in the Citizen Service Department’s Video Conferencing Division have received specialized training to handle transactions and assist applicants through the Sahel app once applications are submitted. The service relies on the government’s secure electronic system to complete all required procedures.
The spokesperson highlighted that following the implementation of this initial phase, the service will be further developed, and the number of beneficiaries will expand after reviewing outcomes and benefits.
The launch aligns with directives from the Council of Ministers and Minister Al-Mishari’s vision to enhance electronic government services, delivering smart, efficient solutions that simplify processes for citizens and meet their housing needs with quality and ease.
