Kuwait Cracks Down On Car Services Violations
Ministry of Commerce inspection teams target tinting overpricing, car rental contracts, and exhaust violations.

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 25: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry said inspection teams are monitoring reports of increased vehicle tinting service fees following the Interior Ministry’s decision to allow tinting of up to 50 percent.

Commercial Control Department Director Faisal Al-Ansari confirmed that inspections are being carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Interior and the General Traffic Department to track the impact of the decision.

He added that inspections also include monitoring compliance with the ban on installing exhaust amplification devices, the use of approved contracts at car rental offices, and verification of documents issued to lessees in line with regulations of the competent authorities.

Al-Ansari noted that some violations require immediate closure, stressing that field teams, working jointly with the Interior Ministry and the insurance unit, are following up to ensure adherence to laws. He affirmed that the campaigns, conducted with other government agencies, aim to safeguard consumer rights and enforce compliance in the public interest.
