CAIRO, July 12: The draw for the Arab Junior Basketball Championship placed Kuwait in Group B, alongside Qatar, Lebanon, and Tunisia. Group A features host nation Egypt, along with Bahrain, Jordan, and Algeria.

The draw was held yesterday in Cairo, where the tournament will take place from August 10 to 17 at the 6th of October Hall. The competition will be played in a single round-robin format across two groups. In the quarterfinal stage, the top team from Group A will face the fourth from Group B, the second from Group A will play the third from Group B, and the fourth from Group A will meet the top team from Group B. The winners will progress to the semifinals, while the losing teams will compete in placement matches for fifth to eighth place.

Meanwhile, Kuwait’s junior national team is scheduled to return from Bahrain this evening after concluding its participation in the Gulf Cup qualifiers for the Asian Cup finals, which will be held in Mongolia next month. The team faced Saudi Arabia last night in Manama to wrap up its campaign.

In a separate development, the Arab Basketball Federation announced the postponement of the draw for the 36th Arab Men's Championship by 24 hours. This came after the Tunisian Federation withdrew from hosting the tournament on its previously scheduled dates of July 25 to August 2. The competition will now be held in December.
