KUWAIT CITY, July 8: As part of its ongoing efforts to combat drug smuggling, the General Administration of Customs has successfully intercepted a significant quantity of marijuana.
Inspectors from the Air Cargo Customs Department – Cargo Inspection Control grew suspicious of a shipment arriving from the United States via an international courier company. Upon inspection, the package appeared to contain a decorative item for display. However, a more thorough examination revealed a concealed compartment beneath a corkboard, where 47 kilograms of marijuana were hidden.
Following the discovery, authorities immediately coordinated with the General Administration for Drug Control to initiate appropriate legal and procedural measures.
The General Administration of Customs reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the country by remaining vigilant and continuing to thwart all smuggling attempts. It emphasized the crucial role of skilled customs personnel and the use of advanced inspection technologies in maintaining national security.
