Kuwait handball league resumes after 11-day hiatus

KUWAIT CITY, March 2: After an 11-day hiatus due to national holidays, the Kuwait handball league resumes today with the commencement of the fourth round. The league was temporarily suspended on February 22 following the conclusion of the third round.

Today’s schedule features three exciting matches to kick off the fourth round. At 4:30 pm, Kazma and Al-Fahaheel will face off, followed by a match between Al-Tadamon and Al-Sulaibikhat at 6:30 pm. The evening concludes at 8:30 pm with a match between Yarmouk and Al-Sahel. Tomorrow’s action includes two matches, with Al Salmiya playing against Al Arabi, and Khaitan facing off against Al Qurain.

Meanwhile, the Kuwait Club and Burgan teams are currently competing in the 40th Gulf Club Championship in Doha, Qatar. Burgan is set to play against Al-Shabab of Bahrain at 2:00 pm in the consolation rounds for fifth to eighth place, where they will also encounter Oman’s Oman and Emirati’s Maliha.

In the semi-finals, Al-Rayyan of Qatar will compete against Al-Dair Al-Bahraini at 4:00 pm. The most anticipated match at 6:00 pm will feature Kuwait Club, the reigning champion, against Al-Arabi of Qatar, the host of the tournament and the runner-up in the Asian Club Championship.

The tournament’s final is scheduled for March 5. In the recent matches, Kuwait Club secured a victory over Al-Shabab of Bahrain with a score of 36-34, claiming the second spot behind Al-Rayyan of Qatar and securing a spot in the semi-finals alongside the Qatari team.
