KUWAIT CITY, Oct 27: Kuwait’s Minister of Defense, Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, emphasized on Monday that the political leadership is committed to supporting the armed forces, enhancing their efficiency, and strengthening their readiness to face various challenges.
The statement from the Army’s General Staff said the remarks were made during Sheikh Abdullah Ali’s visit to the Mohammad Al-Ahmad Naval Base, where he was accompanied by the Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Khaled Al-Shuraiaan.
During the visit, the minister expressed pride in the naval personnel’s dedication and professionalism in performing their national duties. The General Staff stated that the visit commenced with a briefing on the naval force’s responsibilities, workflow mechanisms, combat readiness, and its role in protecting Kuwait’s territorial waters, securing maritime borders, and safeguarding vital facilities.
Sheikh Abdullah Ali also participated in a sea tour aboard the naval vessel Al-Istiqlal, observing a field exercise and live ammunition firing that highlighted the high level of training and operational competence of the naval forces.
The statement added that the Defense Minister was received upon arrival by Commander of the Naval Forces, Rear Admiral Saif Al-Hamlan, along with senior naval officers.
