KUWAIT CITY, June 21: Chief of the Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD), Major General Talal Al-Roumi, conducted an inspection visit on Friday to the Shaddadiya Center for Hazardous Materials and the Search and Rescue Center, accompanied by Acting Deputy Chief for Fire Fighting, Brigadier Omar Hamad.
According to a KFSD statement, the visit aimed to assess workflow and procedures in handling high-risk incidents, as well as to evaluate the readiness of search and rescue operations.
During the field tour, Major General Al-Roumi was briefed by officials at both centers on response mechanisms for chemical and biological incidents, preventive strategies, safety protocols, and ongoing training programs designed to enhance the technical efficiency of specialized personnel.
At the Search and Rescue Center, Al-Roumi received a detailed overview of operational plans, emergency response strategies, and the latest equipment used in both hazardous materials management and rescue operations.
The KFSD chief commended the centers for their advanced technical capabilities and the professionalism of their trained staff. He emphasized the importance of continuous development and modernization in response to growing challenges in the field, reinforcing the Fire Service’s mission to safeguard lives, protect property, and contribute to national safety and security.
