Hacker Wants 15 Bitcoins For Hacked Data
KUWAIT CITY, Sept 26: The ‘hacker’ who targeted the Ministry of Finance announced last week that the data he succeeded in obtaining from one of the ministry’s systems was for sale, setting the required “ransom” amount at 15 bitcoins (about 400 thousand US dollars), reports Al-Seyassah daily
The “hacker” gave the ministry 7 days if it wanted to retrieve the data in exchange for paying the required “ransom” or selling it to anyone who would pay.
It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Finance announced that one of its systems had been subjected to a hacking attempt via a virus last week.
