KUWAIT CITY, Oct 14: Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan has highlighted the importance of sustainable logistics services as a key focus of Kuwait’s National Strategy for 2035, noting the country’s commitment to the expansion of regional and global logistics, reports Al-Seyassah daily. Speaking at the ministerial meeting of the World Logistics Forum 2024, held under the theme “Redrawing the Map of Global Logistics Services” in Saudi Arabia, Dr. Al-Mashaan emphasized Kuwait’s efforts in advancing sustainable railway projects. Kuwait is actively working on railway linkage projects, including the GCC train project and a railway connecting Kuwait to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, she said.
Dr. Al-Mashaan also discussed local initiatives, such as expanding land shipping routes to northern Kuwait, specifically to Mubarak Port, underscoring the strategic integration of seaports with railways to improve logistics efficiency and support land transport. She emphasized that the diversity of shipping methods requires efficient management, highlighting the growing role of artificial intelligence in optimizing transportation routes and enhancing logistics services. The forum, held from October 12 to 14, was inaugurated by Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Transport and Logistics, Eng. Saleh Al-Jasser and featured participation from over 130 speakers, 80 exhibitors, and representatives from 30 countries.
