MACAU, Aug 12, (KUNA):  Kuwait's national judo team secured silver and a bronze medal on Sunday at the Macau Junior and Cadets Asian Cups 2024, hosted in the Macau Region of the People's Republic of China. In the youth category, Fahad Al-Enazi clinched the silver medal in the under-73kg division, while Shehab Al-Salman earned bronze in the under-90kg category.

Yousef Al-Enezi, Head of the Kuwait Judo Federation and leader of the Kuwaiti delegation, highlighted that these achievements provide significant motivation as the team prepares for the Asian Cadets and Junior Championships, scheduled to begin in Seoul, South Korea, on August 28.

Al-Enezi praised the Kuwaiti athletes for their competitive spirit in the Macau tournament, which featured top contenders from across the continent. The delegation departed for South Korea on Monday to commence their training camp in anticipation of the upcoming championships.

He also extended his gratitude to Minister of Youth Dr. Amthal Al-Huwaila and the Public Sports Authority for their unwavering support of judo. Overall, Kuwait earned a total of six medals at the tournament, including one gold, two silver, and three bronze.
