KUWAIT CITY, June 11: Kuwait's national football squad hammered Nepal 4-1 in a Group A qualifiers of the AFC Asian Cup 2023 on Saturday evening. The crucial faceoff, hosted by Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium, saw the Blue team maintain the upper hand throughout the match to secure their first three points. Fahad Hamoud scored the opener for the hosts in minute 28 before the end of the first halftime. In the second half, the Blue expanded their lead with three goals by Yousef Nasser in minutes 48 and 70, and Mubarak Al-Fenini, 73. Nepal scored their sole goal shortly before the end of the game.

The Blue revived their hopes for reaching the AFC Asian Cup finals next year after losing their first encounter to Indonesia 2-1 on Wednesday.
