Online immorality under fire in Kuwait’s latest cyber sting

KUWAIT CITY, May 24: The Ministry of Interior revealed that its Cybercrime General Department uncovered 118 cyber violations recently, including breaches of public morals, incitement of debauchery and immorality, defamation, and calls to violate laws and disrupt public order.

The ministry affirmed that all cases have been referred to the competent authorities for necessary legal action, as part of its ongoing efforts to protect society and uphold security and values. It also stressed the importance of adhering to laws and regulations governing the use of cyberspace, while confirming its continuous monitoring of everything published on digital platforms; thereby, contributing to the promotion of a secure electronic environment A security source told the newspaper that the department is focusing on everything that violates public morals, especially in the broadcasts of social networking sites like TikTok. He warned that anyone proven to have committed violations will he held legally accountable, while stressing the need to adhere to public morals and refrain from harming others.
