BEIRUT, Oct 4: Kuwait is participating in the 30th Arab Squash Championship (individual and team events), taking place in Lebanon from October 7 to 13. The delegation traveled to Beirut last Thursday to hold a preparatory training camp ahead of the tournament.
The Kuwaiti delegation is led by Federation President Waleed Al-Sumaie and includes Treasurer Mishaal Al-Sharqawi as team manager, coaches Ahmed Al-Sayed and Falah Fayez, along with six players: Ammar Al-Tamimi, Ali Al-Ramzi, Badr Al-Maghribi, Jassim Al-Gharib, Abdulrahman Al-Maghribi, and Abdullah Hani.
The championship features six participating nations alongside Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Palestine, Iraq, and host nation Lebanon.
Head of the delegation Al-Sumaie expressed confidence in the team’s ability to deliver a strong performance and compete for top honors, despite the presence of highly competitive teams such as Qatar and Iraq. He emphasized that the Kuwaiti squad combines experienced players, including Ammar Al-Tamimi and Ali Al-Ramzi, with a group of promising talents such as Badr Al-Maghribi, Jassim Al-Gharib, Abdulrahman Al-Maghribi, and 17-year-old junior player Abdullah Hani.
Al-Sumaie added that this talented lineup represents the future of Kuwaiti squash, noting that the team’s technical director, Coach Sherine Adel, has implemented a strategic long-term development plan focused on nurturing young players through international participation and exposure to world-class competitors to strengthen their experience and skills.
