KUWAIT CITY, June 8: In a significant anti-smuggling operation, the General Administration of the Coast Guard, in collaboration with the General Administration for Narcotics Control, successfully intercepted an attempt to smuggle 50 kilograms of cannabis into the country. The estimated market value of the seized narcotics is 150,000 Kuwaiti dinars.

The operation, part of the Ministry of Interior's ongoing efforts to combat narcotic drug dealers and smugglers, led to the arrest of four individuals involved in the smuggling attempt via sea. The Coast Guard, utilizing advanced radar systems, identified and tracked the suspects' location, ensuring their capture and the seizure of the contraband.

While conducting routine monitoring of maritime borders, the Coast Guard received intelligence about the smuggling attempt. Following a thorough investigation and obtaining the necessary legal permissions, the officers apprehended the suspects and confiscated the cannabis.

The successful interception was overseen by Major General Mujbil Bin Shouq, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Border Security Affairs, along with several leaders from the General Administration of the Coast Guard. The suspects and the seized narcotics have been handed over to the competent authorities for further legal action.
