KUWAIT CITY, Sept 6: Kuwait Club came out on top in the marquee matchup of the second round of the 58th Handball Premier League, defeating Qadsia 28-22 at Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Complex. The round also featured Al-Arabi securing its first victory of the season with a 31-28 win over Al-Nasr.

Kuwait Club now leads the table with 4 points from back-to-back wins, while Qadsia remains winless after suffering its second straight loss. Al-Arabi climbed to 3 points following a draw in the opener and a win in the second round. Meanwhile, Al-Nasr has yet to collect a point after two defeats.

The third round of the Premier League will take place next Tuesday and Wednesday.

In the First Division, Yarmouk edged Fahaheel 28-27, while Khaitan cruised past Sahel with a commanding 51-30 triumph. Both Yarmouk and Khaitan opened their campaigns with 2 points, leaving Fahaheel and Sahel still searching for their first win.

The First Division champion will earn automatic promotion to the Premier League next season, while the runner-up will face the seventh-placed Premier League team in a playoff to decide the final promotion spot.
