Kuwait Club player battles an opponent for the ball.

KUWAIT CITY, March 12: The first round of the championship group "League of Six" in the Premier Division is set to conclude this evening, Wednesday. The clash between Kuwait Club and Al-Fahaheel is scheduled at 10:00 pm at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium, while simultaneously, Al-Arabi will face off against Al-Nasr at Sabah Al-Salem Stadium.

Following this round, the competition will take a break as our national team prepares to meet Qatar on March 21 and 26 for the third and fourth rounds of the first group competitions in the joint Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup and the 2027 Asian Cup. The league competition is expected to wrap up by the end of March.

In the initial face-off, Kuwait Club, leading the standings with 43 points, aims to maintain its positive momentum and secure another victory to stay atop the pyramid. Despite a convincing 4-1 win against Al-Fahaheel in the first part of the tournament, Kuwait Club is mindful of the challenge posed by the same team, which forced a 1-1 draw in the second encounter.

On the other hand, Al-Fahaheel, currently in sixth place with 23 points, has little to lose, having already secured a spot in the Championship Group League. However, the team aspires to climb the ranks and make a lasting impression in the tournament.

In the second match, Al-Arabi, in second place with 42 points, is eager for a victory to potentially seize the lead if Kuwait Club faces a setback against Al-Fahaheel. This match holds special significance for both teams, as Al-Arabi dominated Al-Nasr in the second leg with a 6-3 victory, while Al-Nasr secured a 3-1 win in the initial encounter, marking the only defeat for Al-Akhdar in the tournament.

Al-Nasr, currently fifth with 24 points, is hopeful of overcoming recent declines in results and making a positive impact in tonight's confrontation.
