Kuwait Club prevails over Shabab Al-Hussein

MUSCAT, Feb 4: The first volleyball team of Kuwait Club secured a well-deserved victory against Shabab Al-Hussein from Jordan yesterday, winning three consecutive rounds with scores of “25-21, 25-23, 25-22” in the second round of the second group during the preliminary round of the Second West Asian Club Volleyball Championship. This championship is currently taking place at the Omani Sohar Club.

In a parallel match, the second Kuwaiti volleyball representative faced defeat against Al-Qadisiyah from Al-Seeb, Oman, with an identical score in the first group. The “Yellow” team had previously achieved victory in the first round against Al-Ibtisam from Saudi Arabia, where Al-Seeb triumphed over Baniyas from the Emirates with a 3-0 score. Additionally, Al-Arabi from Qatar secured a 3-0 victory against Al-Ahly from Bahrain, while Sohar from Oman defeated Shabab Al-Hussein with a 3-1 result.

Notably, the Qatari Al Rayyan team emerged victorious in the first edition of the tournament, with the Kuwait Club team securing the runner-up position and the Qatari Al-Shorta team claiming third place.Prepared through an external camp in Turkey, Al-Kuwait faced Al-Qadisiyah, who had prepared through a camp in Dubai.

Today, four matches are scheduled for the third round. Al-Seeb will face Al-Rayyan from Qatar in the first group, and Al-Qadisiyah will compete against Baniyas from the Emirates. In the second group, Al-Kuwait will play against Al-Arabi from Qatar, while Al-Ahly from Bahrain will confront Shabab Al-Hussein from Jordan.

Meanwhile, the Kuwait Volleyball Federation, through the Referees Committee, is organizing a study course for new referees in collaboration with the Abdullah Al-Salem Center for Leadership Preparation. The 10-day course will be open for registration from today until the day after tomorrow during the evening period at the Volleyball Federation headquarters in the Sheikh Complex. The session will be led by international referees Dr. Ahmed Anizan and Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Houli.
