KUWAIT CITY, July 27: Kuwait Club will wrap up its training camp in Turkey tomorrow after playing its final friendly match against the Saudi Neom team. The team will continue its daily training in preparation for the upcoming match against Al-Qadisiya before traveling to Manama for the AFC Champions League 2 playoff against Al-Ahly of Bahrain on August 14.
In related news, Kuwait Club has turned down a request from Algerian club Ittihad Al-Djazair to acquire Tunisian professional Yassin Al-Khenisi. Al-Khenisi, who missed the latter part of the previous season due to injury, has now recovered and rejoined the team.
Al-Qadisiya drew 2-2 with Egyptian club Wadi Degla in its Cairo training camp, marking its second draw of the camp. It previously tied 1-1 with Al-Arabi of the UAE. Al-Qadisiya's goals against Wadi Degla were scored by Brazilian Igor Rossi and Moroccan Mehdi Berrahma.
The Yellows are set to play its third friendly match against the Saudi team Ohod, before returning to Kuwait to resume its training and prepare for its local competition. Al-Qadisiya will face Kuwaitn Club in the first round of the Zain Premier League on August 8.
Al-Qadisiya coach Mohammed Al-Mishaan described the match against Wadi Degla as a "strong experience," noting that the game was divided into three 40-minute halves to evaluate the players' fitness. Al-Mishaan defended the signing of Brazilian Igor Rossi, 35, against criticism, stating that performance should be assessed regardless of age. He emphasized that Rossi will be a valuable addition to Al-Qadisiya for the new season, while also leaving room for potential changes in the squad.
Rossi expressed his enthusiasm for joining Al-Qadisiya, noting his previous experience in Saudi Arabia and his belief in the team’s potential. He is eager to contribute more goals in the future.
Al-Fahaheel lost 1-2 to Al-Ittihad Alexandria in a friendly match during their camp in Egypt. The "Heroes" will conclude their friendly matches tomorrow against the Egyptian Roxy team before returning to Kuwait the following day.
