KUWAIT CITY, Sept 11: The 64th edition of the Zain Premier League kicks off this weekend with four exciting matches. The opening day features Al-Jahra taking on Al-Fahaheel at Mubarak Al-Ayar Stadium at 6:25 PM, followed by Al-Arabi versus Al-Shabab at Sabah Al-Salem Stadium at 8:40 PM.
Al-Qadsia will face Al-Nasr at Mohammed Al-Hamad Stadium at 6:25 PM, while defending champions Kuwait Club begin their title defense against Al-Tadamon at 8:40 PM at Ali Sabah Al-Salem Stadium on Saturday. The first round concludes on Sunday with Al-Salmiya hosting Kazma at Thamer Stadium at 6:20 PM.
Kuwait Club remains the most successful team in league history, boasting 20 titles, including four consecutive wins over the past four seasons. Al-Arabi and Al-Qadsia follow with 17 titles each, while Al-Salmiya and Kazma have four each, and Al-Jahra has one.
Kuwait Club is aiming for a historic fifth consecutive title, having previously achieved four straight wins twice: from 2016–2017 to 2019–2020 and from 2021–2022 to 2024–2025.
Other top clubs, including Al-Qadsia, Al-Arabi, Kazma, and Al-Salmiya, are determined to challenge for the championship. Their goals include reclaiming long-lost titles, ending the Kuwait Club’s recent domestic dominance, and establishing themselves as strong contenders in the league.
