KUWAIT CITY, Nov 1: The seventh round of the Zain Premier League kicks off with two exciting matches. The first showdown features Al-Nasr facing Al-Arabi at Ali Sabah Al-Salem Stadium at 5:30 pm, followed by Kuwait taking on Al-Fahaheel at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium at 8:28 pm.
Both matches are significant for the league leaders, with Al-Kuwait and Al-Arabi both holding 14 points each. This unique scheduling is due to their involvement in the AFC Cup. Kuwait will host the Syrian side, Al-Ahly Aleppo Union, while Al-Arabi are set to travel to Manama to face Bahrain's Riffa next week.
In the opening encounter, Al-Arabi aim to continue their impressive run in the domestic championship and secure another victory, allowing them to maintain their league lead and bolster their title aspirations.
Meanwhile, Al-Nasr, currently ranked sixth with 7 points, are eager to clinch a victory or at least a draw to recover from recent setbacks that pushed them down the standings. This includes a heavy 2-4 loss to Al-Fahaheel in the previous round.
In the second match, Kuwait, who top the standings on goal difference, seek to regain their winning form after a draw with Al-Qadsia cost them their league lead. They hope to secure a win today, boosting morale and preparing for their upcoming match against the Syrian team in the Asian Championship.
On the other side, Al-Fahaheel, currently in seventh place with 5 points, aim to capitalize on the high spirits of their players following their first league victory against Al-Nasr (4-2) in the last round.
