KUWAIT CITY, Dec 10: Kuwait Club seeks another win in the basketball league as it faces Al-Nasr at 5:00 pm in the sixth round of the competition. The second match of the evening will pit Al-Tadamon against Al-Qurain at 7:30 pm. Both games are scheduled to take place at the Union Hall in Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Indoor Halls Complex.
Kuwait Club and Al-Qadsiya currently top the league standings with 6 points each. Kazma and Al-Nasr follow in third and fourth place with 5 points, trailed by Al-Sulaibikhat with 4 points. Al-Arabi and Yarmouk share 3 points each, while Al-Qurain and Al-Tadamon sit at the bottom with 2 points apiece.
The tournament format allows the top four teams from the preliminary league to progress to the semi-finals, where the first-place team will face the fourth-place team, and the second will compete against the third in a best-of-three "play-off" series. The winners will advance to the final.
In the opening game, Kuwait Club is heavily favored to claim the two points, boasting standout local players such as Alexander Al-Ghais, Hamad Adnan, and Turki Hamoud, alongside American professionals Jakar, Brianti, and Augustine. However, Al-Nasr has shown significant improvement in recent weeks and features skilled professionals like Steve and Thomas, making this clash anything but straightforward.
In the second match, Al-Qurain is poised for its first victory of the season, given the technical disparity between them and their opponent. Al-Tadamon lacks professional players in their lineup, giving Al-Qurain a notable advantage.
