CAIRO, May 1: The Arab Shooting Championship concluded with Egypt dominating the overall medal tally, followed by Kuwait in second place and Qatar in third. The event featured competitions in pistol and air rifle shooting, skeet, and trap shooting for both men and women.
Egypt led the standings with a total of 30 medals—11 gold, 13 silver, and 6 bronze. Kuwait secured second place with 12 medals, including 7 gold and 5 bronze, while Qatar claimed third with 10 medals (3 gold, 4 silver, and 3 bronze). Bahrain ranked fourth with 10 medals, earning 1 gold, 3 silver, and 6 bronze.
The Kuwaiti shooting team delivered standout performances, particularly in skeet and trap events. It clinched gold in both the men’s team skeet and men’s skeet competitions. The team also excelled in trap shooting, securing gold and bronze in the men’s event, gold in the men’s team trap, gold in the women’s trap, and bronze in the women’s team trap.
Kuwait concluded its medal haul with a victory in the mixed team trap event, where Talal Al-Tarqi and Shahad Al-Hawal earned the gold medal.
