KUWAIT CITY, May 15: Kuwait’s Meteorological Department (MD) has forecast hot and dusty weather conditions over the weekend, with high temperatures persisting into the night and strong northwesterly winds expected to impact visibility and sea conditions.

Meteorologist Abdulaziz Al-Ali explained that the country is currently under the influence of a shallow surface low-pressure system, which will gradually give way to an extending high-pressure system. This shift will bring in a hot, dry air mass accompanied by moderate to brisk northwesterly winds, which may intensify at times.

Al-Ali noted that weather models and satellite data show the winds becoming particularly active on Saturday and Sunday, potentially reducing horizontal visibility and generating high sea waves, especially in exposed areas.

The weather on Thursday will be hot and relatively humid, particularly along coastal regions. Winds will shift from southeasterly to northwesterly, blowing at light to moderate speeds, sometimes becoming active at 12 to 50 km/h. These conditions may lead to dust formation and the appearance of high clouds.

Thursday night will be relatively hot and humid in coastal areas, with northwesterly to variable winds at 10 to 45 km/h, occasionally active and causing dust.

On Friday, the weather will remain hot, with northwesterly winds ranging from 15 to 50 km/h, which may cause dust and bring some scattered clouds.

Friday night will continue to be hot, especially in coastal areas, with northwesterly winds at 15 to 50 km/h. Scattered clouds may appear.

According to Al-Ali, Saturday will bring hot and dusty conditions, with moderate to strong northwesterly winds at 30 to 60 km/h.

By Saturday night, the dust is expected to gradually subside. Winds will be northwesterly, light to moderate, sometimes active at 15 to 45 km/h.

The Meteorological Department urges caution during the period due to the potential for reduced visibility, dust storms, and high sea activity, particularly in open areas.
