KUWAIT CITY, July 6:  The Ministry of Higher Education has announced the approval of students accepted into the original foreign missions plan for the 2024/2025 academic year, as confirmed by the Minister of Education and Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Adel Al-Adwani. A total of 3,325 male and female students have been approved.

Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry, Lamia Al-Melhem, stated in a press release today, Saturday, that the accepted students are holders of the General Secondary Certificate from the years 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 from various public, private, and foreign schools. Students can visit the ministry's website and enter their civil number to check their acceptance status, including their specialization and country of assignment.

Al-Melhem highlighted that this year's foreign missions plan includes several new specializations to diversify educational outcomes, aligning them with labor market requirements and enhancing the health system with high-quality and efficient medical and supporting medical specializations. The number of seats for medical specialties in this year's plan has been increased compared to last year, under the directives and direct follow-up of the Minister, with the dedicated efforts of the cultural offices in the countries of assignment.

She emphasized the Ministry's commitment to implementing the national test as a first stage this year through the aptitude test used at Kuwait University, making it a criterion for acceptance into foreign missions for high school graduates aspiring to study medical and engineering specialties. This initiative aims to ensure the quality of education, achieve justice and equal opportunities, reduce student dropout rates, and provide equal opportunity for all applicants to be accepted into foreign missions, positively impacting the country's educational development.

Al-Melhem stressed the importance of students adhering to the laws of the countries of assignment, mission regulations, and equivalencies to facilitate their academic progress throughout the mission period. She emphasized the need for students to comply with the dates provided by the Ministry for completing the mission accreditation procedures.

Al-Melhem also mentioned that students can follow the third and final phase of the "Guide Me" campaign through the ministry’s official social media accounts to access all relevant information for the post-acceptance stage. She urged students accepted into foreign missions to attend the orientation meeting organized by the Ministry of Higher Education in cooperation with Kuwait University on July 9 and 10 in three sessions. A text message will be sent to inform accepted students of the orientation meeting date.
