TASHKENT, Oct 6: Kuwait kicks off its training this evening in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, ahead of a friendly match against the Uzbekistan national team scheduled for the day after tomorrow. This session is part of the team’s preparations during the international break as they gear up for a critical Arab Cup playoff match against Mauritania on November 25 in Doha.
The preparation program also includes a friendly against the Moroccan local national team in Dubai. The team will travel from Tashkent to the UAE next Friday to face Morocco on October 14, returning on October 15.
In Tashkent, the team will hold two intensive training sessions, led by Portuguese coach Helio Sousa, aimed at refining player readiness, tactical discipline, and overall performance, particularly ahead of the match with Uzbekistan, who have qualified for the 2026 World Cup in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
The friendly against Morocco is equally important, allowing the coaching staff to evaluate players’ technical and tactical abilities in preparation for the decisive clash with Mauritania.
Looking ahead, the Football Association confirmed that the team will travel to Cairo, Egypt, on November 10 for a training camp lasting until November 20. During this camp, they will face Tanzania and Gambia in friendlies on November 14 and 18, before heading to Doha, Qatar, to prepare for the Arab Cup playoff match against Mauritania on November 25.
This structured preparation aims to ensure the team enters the Arab Cup playoffs fully ready and competitive.
