Kuwait begins Asian Padel Cup journey with a win over Bahrain

DOHA, Oct 19: Kuwait began its campaign at the inaugural Asian Padel Cup (Qatar 2025) with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Bahrain. The tournament runs until October 24.

The opening day also saw Kuwait’s women’s team fall 0-3 to Indonesia in their first group-stage match. Kuwait’s group includes both Indonesia and Bahrain.

The men’s squad features Abdulaziz Mayouf, Abdulrahman Al-Awadhi, Fouad Behbehani, Hamoud Al-Junaidel, Hussein Shams, Abdullah Al-Roudhan, Youssef Nazar, and Mohammed Al-Qattan. Representing the women’s team are Sarah Behbehani, Dalal Al-Jazzaf, Maryam Al-Sarraj, Dalal Al-Qanai, Dalal Al-Faris, Zainab Sarakhoh, Noor Hassan, and Rahab Behbehani.

The competition is being held in two stages. The first stage, from October 17 to 19, brings together 17 teams ranked between fifth and 21st in Asia and Oceania, divided into four groups.

Group winners, along with the continent’s top four-ranked nations, will advance to the final stage, set to take place from October 20 to 24.
