KUWAIT CITY, Aug 6: The Chairman of the Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA), Sheikh Humoud Mubarak Al-Humoud Al-Sabah, met on Tuesday with the Ambassador of the Republic of Nepal to Kuwait, Gana Shyam Lamsal, to explore ways of strengthening cooperation in the field of civil aviation.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed measures to improve air connectivity between Kuwait and Nepal, with a focus on facilitating passenger travel, expanding bilateral air services, and enhancing coordination between their respective civil aviation authorities.
Sheikh Humoud told KUNA that the discussions included a mutual agreement on the need to revise and update the current flight arrangements between the two countries. He noted that the Nepalese community in Kuwait has doubled in recent years, increasing from 80,000 to 160,000 residents. Additionally, there has been a noticeable rise in the number of Kuwaiti tourists visiting Nepal compared to the previous year.
He emphasized that the next phase of cooperation should focus on increasing the number of flights between Kuwait and Nepal to meet the growing demand from both airline operators and travelers, in line with the evolving dynamics of Kuwait’s air transport sector.
The meeting underscores the commitment of both nations to deepen bilateral ties through improved aviation partnerships that serve the interests of their respective populations.
