KUWAIT CITY, June 3: Kuwait University has announced the commencement of electronic applications for the first semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. The Acting Dean of Admissions and Registration, Dr. Fadel Abbas Aziz, confirmed that eligible students, including Kuwaitis, children of Kuwaiti women, citizens of Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and certain categories of illegal residents, can submit their applications starting Monday, July 15, 2024, until Thursday, July 25, 2024.

Dr. Aziz outlined that students from other admission categories can apply in person at the admission and registration hall in Sabah Al-Salem University City between July 18 and July 25, 2024, during official working hours.

Admission to most university specializations will be based on an equivalent average, except for the College of Science and the College of Law. The equivalent average is calculated using specific weights that vary by college, considering the student's secondary certificate results and academic aptitude test scores.

Applications are to be submitted online through the university’s electronic admission system at http://portal.ku.edu.kw/admission. The admission approval period for Kuwaiti students and children of Kuwaiti women, particularly American and English high school graduates, will be processed online, excluding graduates from the Unified System and the Religious Institute, who will also have their admissions processed electronically without needing to visit the hall.

Dr. Aziz assured that students who encounter difficulties accessing the system will be provided with guidelines and instructions. He emphasized that university admission is contingent upon the validity of the submitted data. Students are advised to review their applications to ensure they provide all necessary documents as per their secondary certificate type and admission category. The university reserves the right to cancel admissions if required documents are not provided or if the data is found to be incorrect.

Special provisions have been made for Kuwaiti men and children of Kuwaiti women with special needs, with minimum admission percentages set at 65% for the scientific department and 72% for the literary department. These students must provide a valid certificate of disability and medical reports and submit their applications in person. However, students with higher percentages (70% for the scientific department and 78% for the literary department) can apply online.

English high school students expected to graduate must submit their applications electronically within the specified dates and provide their final results to the Deanship of Admissions and Registration within two working days of the result announcement. They will be accepted according to the minimum limits announced for each college and specialization.

Additionally, there is a designated application period for students transferring from other universities and colleges, members of the Kuwaiti Army, National Guard, Saad Al-Abdullah Academy for Security Sciences, and cultural scholarship students from July 14, 2024, to August 29, 2024.

Dr. Aziz concluded by urging applicants to adhere to the instructions provided online and to strictly follow the deadlines for application submission and admission approval. No applications will be accepted after the specified period, and he wished all students success in their academic endeavors.
