Kuwait Shooting Sports Club marksmen claimed the majority of men’s and women’s events at the Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah Shooting Championship.Trap 2002 world champion Khaled Al-Mudhaf clinched the men’s gold while 2012 Olympic finalist Maryam Arzouqi took the women’s 10m air rifle for the club.Overall, KSSC shooters pipped their National Guard rivals in nine out of 13 shooting sport events, including archery, staged at Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Olympic Shooting Complex.In the men’s events, the winners, on behalf of the club, included Jarrah Al-Shuwair (double trap), Abdullah Al-Harbi (10m air rifle), Ali Al-Mutairi (10m air pistol) and Abdullah Malallah (compound bow archery).Four National Guard shooters won their respective disciplines, including Mansour Al-Rashidi (skeet), Khaled Abdulsalam (50m rifle prone), Saad Al-Ajmi (50m pistol) and Faisal Al-Sindi (archery). In the women’s events, Shahad Al-Hawal (trap), Sheikha Al-Rashidi (skeet) and Israa Bahman (10m air pistol) were all triumphant, competing for KSSC.The event was held following a successful dual medal haul for Kuwaiti shooters at the recently-concluded Arab Air Gun Shooting Championships in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, KSSC official Mohammad Al-Ghorba said.
