KSC Pres lauds achievements of Kuwaiti shooters at Islamic solidarity games

ANKARA, Aug 16: President of Kuwait Shooting Club (KSC) Duaij Al-Otaibi Tuesday praised the distinguished results made by Kuwaiti athletes during Islamic solidarity games currently hosted by Turkey’s Konya city.

Speaking to KUNA, Al-Otaibi said that the Kuwaiti athletes bagged six medals, including three gold and three silver. In the Skeet doubles contest, Iman al-Shamaa and Abdulaziz al-Saad won the silver medal, he noted.

Abdulrahman al-Faihan and Talal al-Torki had the gold and silver medals respectively in Men’s single Trap contest, Al-Otaibi said, addinging that Sara al-Hawal snatched the gold in Women’s single Trap game. Al-Otaibi dedicated the win to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah as well as Kuwaitis. The club will concentrate its efforts to help its shooters achieve progress in the next phase to qualify for Paris 2024 Summer Olympics, he stressed. The games, which are featuring about 6,000 male and female athletes of more than 50 Islamic countries, will run until August 18.(KUNA)
